This is what I felt listening to this album. Serendipity is a freshly paved summer avenue, warm underfoot, where Rod Tate 's sax flirts, plays, and hints at dance steps. It doesn't stop to contemplate: it advances, sways, winks. There's rhythm in its curves, an urban lightness, like strolling through evening lights, feeling the world move to your rhythm. The songs have the kind of groove that makes your head bob without realizing it, as if the air itself had a beat.

Here, the serenity of the title isn't just quiet, but sudden discovery: a chorus that appears around the corner, a soft riff that becomes a smile.

The music exudes elegance but doesn't remain in your armchair: it glides through veins of soul, ignites small sparks of funk, caresses jazz with a vital style.  Every sentence seems to say "let go," relax but don't close your eyes, keep them open: to capture that subtle joy that arises silently, when the music decides to embrace you... and you find yourself smiling, knowing exactly why.
